Description

Ganesh brings joy and happiness to the family and may remove all the Obstacles. He is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness, and pride. He is the personification of the material universe in all its various magnificent manifestations. Ganesh the elephant deity riding a mouse is also considered as the god of the gods. In his hands, he carries a rope (to carry devotees to the truth), an ax (to cut devotees’ attachments), and a sweet dessert ball -laddoo- (to reward devotees for spiritual activity). His fourth hand’s palm is always extended to bless people. Today in Kathmandu, the prayers visit Ganesh temple early in the morning for self-satisfaction and positive blessing. These statues are made of wood camphor.
