Kaal Bhairav is the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva associated with annihilation.  Kal Bhairav is  the guardian deity of the city, simply known as protector.Every year lots of animal sacrifice is done infornt of him, making believe that the god will be happy because of offerings and all.

It is wood from Pipal tree (specie ficus religiosa).
